I had the privilege to see the largest collection of works by Takis ever held in the UK at the Tate Modern recently. His work brings together sculpture, magnets light and sound. I feel like this would have been a really useful exhibition to see at the beginning of my PhD when I was starting to explore the idea of ‘Sonic Textiles’. I enjoyed the subtle movement that the magnets create and the instruments that play themselves through magnetic movement. Unfortunately Takis passed away after the show opened, he was however involved in the shaping of the exhibition.
